Story:

Colliers Project Management contracted with the building owner, OCP Dublin LLC, to provide a state of the art, 24/7 emergency medical dispatching center and office space for Medflight. Colliers Project Management worked closely with the Medflight team and General Contractor to procure a seamless transition to their new space with zero downtime to their dispatching center.

Hurdles:
•This space had incredibly complex tech needs with the Dispatchers using multiple lines of communication that run 24/7. Additionally, accommodations were needed for data and security required by the many hospital systems in Ohio and surrounding states that Medflight services.
•Medflight is a non-profit organization so staying on or below budget was essential and finding cost savings by value engineering throughout the project was necessary.
•Being a 24/7 emergency medical dispatching center, Medflight needed fully redundant power in place and the existing facility lacked a generator. Challenges tied to this included significant infrastructure upgrades, addressing visual requirements of the local municipality, and shutting off power to the entire building several times for installation, testing and inspections while mitigating tenant disruptions. ​ ​ ​
 
Solutions:
•Colliers worked closely with Medflight’s IT Team, the General Contractor, Data Providers, and the various hospital systems to facilitate communication between all parties, keep information organized, and the project on schedule.
•We were able to locate a used generator with the correct capabilities in lieu of using a new and custom generator, saving Medflight tens of thousands of dollars. Working with the Architect and General Contractor we were also able to select alternative finishes for the space that saved cost from the original budget.
•Colliers navigated the municipalities visual and testing requirements with assistance from the Electrician and General Contractor. Communication with the entire building and neighboring tenants was also essential and kept disruptions during building shut-down to a minimum.
